Your role

Join our team and share our sole objective of helping our clients.  Reporting to the Senior Team Leader and based in the Group Savings and Retirement Contact Centre, you will provide plan members with expertise, information and education with respect to their group savings and retirement plan(s). You will be responsible for providing information over the telephone regarding investment options and financial planning strategies, such as the consolidation of their overall accumulated assets at Standard Life. The scheduled number of working hours is 37.5 per week and no weekend work or sales are required!  We ask that our employees are available between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Your primary responsibilities

  • Educate group plan members with regards to the various investment options offered by their retirement plans, discuss investment strategies and market conditions and determine their investor profile in order to better guide them in selecting an appropriate investment mix.
  • Use your professional expertise to address queries from group plan members/brokers/intermediaries with regard to various plan aspects and topics, such as plan specifications, legislative information and investments.
  • Help plan members maximize their retirement program through training and information focused on the main elements needed to develop a solid savings and retirement strategy.
  • Provide Total Customer Satisfaction by meeting service level standards required to achieve the line of business asset retention and conversion objectives.
  • Identify prospects for transferring accumulated assets to retirement payout products.

Key Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance or Economics.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a customer services and/or financial services environment.
  • Knowledge of retirement products, special plans and legislation regarding retirement plans, taxation and financial and legal issues.  
  • Work experience in a “client contact center” is an asset.
  • Canadian Securities Course or IFIC, are assets.
  • Insurance of persons license is an asset
  • CEBS is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
  • Listening skills, tact and ability to work in a team.
  • Bilingual – French and English (written and spoken).
  • Availability between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
