Intern, Information Technology- Project Control

To be successful in this role, the incumbent must provide support to Project Leaders with regards to the control, activities, coordination and monitoring of standard projects (small-scale, short-term). Ensures the implementation, updates and follow-up of project management tools and reporting throughout each project. Typically requires experience and operates under moderate supervision. 

  • Updates and maintains project documents, administers project management tools and produces necessary reports to ensure effective project control.
  • Monitors small-scale project activities to ensure their scope and framework are respected. Produces appropriate information to ensure effective project control.
  • Produces, monitors and maintains project plans for small-scale projects, ensuring appropriate timeframes and resource allocation for each project. Reports any potential derailers to the Project Leader.
  • Actively participates as a team member for the duration of projects.
  • Verifies and analyzes risk, scope, cost and timeline trends; provides preliminary action plans and recommendations to Project Leaders and/or Project Managers to resolve issues.
  • Ensures appropriate controls and financial measures are in place and applied correctly to projects.
  • Follows project methodologies implemented by the Project Office.
  • Implements and maintains controls to mitigate financial and operational risks. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Participates in the development of project management plans.
  • May plan and coordinate administrative activities for the project teams.


  • Must be enrolled in a University program with a focus on MIS or IT.
  • Bilingual, French and English, written and spoken.
