Responsible for managing the relationships with Preferred Intermediaries and Preferred Partners and where cultivating relationships, identifying opportunities and account management skills are critical.

  • Manages relationships with Group Insurance Preferred Intermediaries and Preferred Partners for Small Business Solutions.
  • Identify Group Insurance Preferred Intermediaries and assists the Regional Director in the recruitment of Preferred Partners that will generate business that meets corporate risk criteria and contributes to sales and profitability objectives.
  • Conducts and/or arranges product and or other training sessions directed to intermediaries, Preferred Partners or their staff.
  • Monitors competitor(s) activity in each account and ensures that appropriate response strategies are formulated and communicated.
  • Establishes close working relationships with select business sources and group sales staff.
  • Works closely with and provide input to the Small Business Solutions team members responsible for quoting new groups, for renewing in force groups and for serving policyholders and intermediaries.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with other areas within Standard Life who service Small Business Solutions groups.
  • Works with peers in other regional offices and with corporate staff to share information and ideas to make the product more competitive and more profitable.
  • Identifies, implements and maintains controls to mitigate financial and operational risks. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.


  • University degree, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • CEBS (designation or ongoing)
