Senior Consultant, Business Continuity & Physical Security

Description:

The Senior Consultant is responsible to protect Standard Life's interests and enable mission critical business functions to provide continuity of services to all its customers in the event of an unanticipated business interruption or a crisis.

At time of crisis, coordinate with the Incident Crisis Management Team (ICMT) and Divisional Recovery Coordinators (DRC) to assess the financial & operational impact of any business interruption and resume operations according to the established Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) Manage security issues by analysis of the threat to assets, the likelihood of occurrence. Maintain security controls in proportion to the threat to enable effective business operations.

  • Proactively supports Management in identifying, addressing and integrating business requirements into the Business Continuity Plan.
  • Establishes Business Continuity guidelines.
  • Provides expertise, guidance, insights and advice regarding Business Continuity Management.
  • Maintains good relationships with regulators and acts as the key contact person in dealing with Business Continuity related regulated requests.
  • Prepares reporting for Senior Management on Business Continuity Readiness.
  • Actively promotes the importance of Business Continuity and application of best practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry practices and an active involvement in various industry groups and committees.
  • Represents Standard Life within the Industry and is the subject matter expert in the area of Business Continuity Management.
  • Maintains relationship with Group Security and Continuity Management team.
  • Leads key initiatives and projects designed to enhance our Business Continuity program. 

Requirements

  • University degree in business administration.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) designation.
  • Expertise in business continuity planning and management, crisis management and physical security.
  • Ability to build a maintaine and enhance Business Continuity Framework to ensure Standard Life Canada's readiness.
