If you have strong analytical skills with strong abilities for communicating and reporting analytics’ results as well as advancedknowledge and experience with BI tools such as Business Objects or the like.

If you enjoy extracting, investigating and analyzing large and complex data pertaining to our customers and the products they purchase in order to translate it into meaningfulbusiness intelligence that will enable the company to better understand its clients and intermediaries.

If you have strong business acumen for identifying, from the data, underlying trends and business opportunities that will drive the development of tactical and strategic plans.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of product and customer data as well as internal transactional systems.
  • Building an effective network of internal and external partners. May coordinate discussions with external suppliers.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and BI innovations via benchmarking, best practice, networking, attending industry seminars, readings, etc.
  • Interacting with senior and middle managers (strategy, sales, product development, marketing and communication and customer experience) to understand their research or intelligence needs and requirements, collecting the required data, performing the analysis,  identifying opportunities, communicating findings, trends and insights that truly speak to their respective tactical strategic objectives.
  • Translating and documenting our internal clients’ business intelligence requirements into recommendations, in close collaboration with counterparts in I&T and the BI Center of Excellence, for the development and enhancement of our business intelligence tools, systems and databases.
  • Performs data mining analysis.

Requirements:

  • University degree in a related field with five (5) years of experience in a similar role. Knowledge of the financial industry will be considered as a plus. 
  • Strong analytical skills linked to the ability to understand, search and interpret data.
  • Team work and ability to provide guidance, in the form of transfer of knowledge, to less experienced staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to handle, prioritize and lead projects to completion.
  • Proficient in Business Intelligence and database tools such as Business Object, MS Access and SQL (writing database queries).  Knowledge of SAS (or like) and experience in predictive analytics will be considered a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and strong knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, both in English and French, with ability to interact effectively with internal clients and external suppliers.
