Senior Consultant, Compensation

Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards, the Senior Advisor, Compensation, must advise and influence upper management regarding the application of HR policies and practices. The incumbent will maintain, develop and implement extensive and specialized compensation initiatives in order to support business strategies.

  • Acts as a compensation expert for all levels of line management and for the HR function.
  • Acts as a job assessment expert.
  • Leads large-scale projects and interventions to improve Company-wide compensation and HR services.
  • Actively demonstrates thorough knowledge and advanced skills in compensation (depth) and broad knowledge of other HR fields (breadth).
  • Works with the current team to lead the various compensation processes: salary review, payment of performance bonuses, review and application of the various compensation programs for the Sales department, etc.
  • Evaluates, recommends, develops and implements compensation practices.
  • Monitors compensation within and outside the Company.
  • Independently performs complex analysis to assist decision making while ensuring the accuracy of results.
  • Participates in the preparation of strategic and tactical plans aligned with the annual strategic plan of the various lines of business.
  • Evaluates, recommends, develops and implements practices and controls that meet business objectives and improve process efficiency and quality of information.
  • Identifies, implements and maintains controls to mitigate financial and operational risks. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.


  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or in a relevant field, with at least eight (8) years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of employment and job market legislation.
  • In-depth knowledge of various compensation concepts.
  • Knowledge of the Hay job performance evaluation system.
  • Knowledge of MS-Office software, including an excellent understanding of Excel.
  • Experience in setting up and implementing extensive compensation projects.
  • Excellent aptitude for an advisory role.
  • Bilingualism (written and spoken) is essential.
  • WorldatWork certification is considered as asset.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
