Description:

The Practice Manager provides professional leadership, direction and development for IT people in the allocated professional discipline and builds a reputable, professional and skilled pool of resources appropriately deployed to work on a range of IT assignments.

He is responsible for the performance management and career development of a team of IT professionals. He builds the professional IT capabilities, leveraging in-depth technical knowledge and strong management skills.

  • Manages, develops and motivates his team to ensure the proper use of people and their skills to effectively fulfill current and future business priorities.
  • Monitors resources and plans ahead to identify and fulfill potential gaps to ensure minimal impact on delivery or projects.
  • Ensures target utilization levels are achieved and resourcing levels are managed and deployed in an efficient and effective manner to deliver results.
  • Develops relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure focus on appropriate priorities and the effective delivery of existing and future work.
  • Manages potentially conflicting and changing priorities between all areas involved in work programs.
  • Proactively challenges and monitors his team to ensure robust governance processes and consistent standards of work.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of hiring, developing and promoting highly successful IT professionals.
  • Experience in an IT environment based on continuous improvement and proactive mindset.
  • Track record of successful project delivery.
  • Good communication and coaching skills.
  • Comfortable using a unified performance management approach.
  • Bilingual, French and English, written and spoken.
