The Consultant, Product Development, Large Case & Consultants will actively participate in initiatives designed to develop and enhance Group Insurance  (GI) products and services towards providing tailored financial solutions catering to the needs of our targeted distribution networks and their valued clients.

Accountable for the performance and results of the initiatives designed to develop and enhance GI products and services.
As identified Product Owner of the initiatives, is responsible and accountable for the product development/management, strategic relevance, sales and profit attainment while taking into consideration the capital plan of the company for the related initiatives.
  • Participates in the successful implementation of approved strategic initiatives, including sound product design, compliance with legal and fiscal regulations, articulated sales concepts, administrative procedures, marketing material and systems. 
  • Monitors progress of specific projects to ensure the timely completion of initiatives within budget.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and collaborates with members of other areas (for example: Strategy, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Legal, Taxation, Customer experience, Pricing and IT) and/or project team members to ensure effective development and deployment of products. Develops and delivers training programs to support internal service providers.   
  • Independently compiles and evaluates research on the market's product requirements. Gathers and analyzes data to ensure that changing market conditions, emerging trends and competitor activities are identified.    
  • Directs the analysis of statistical information and monitors, tracks and reports on competitive forces in the marketplace and changes to the current block of business.    
  • Leads product development and product management projects and initiatives. 
  • Participates in the identification, development, launch and evolution of products and services, which includes research, design, business case development, implementation, product coaching and profitability monitoring.   
  • Acts as a reference for less experienced employees. May be called upon to help and/or train less experienced employees.   
  • Participates in meetings with large enterprises and consultants, when required by Sales. Participates in BARS committee and in RFP response. 


  • University degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance or other relevant concentration.    
  • Professional designation such as ASA is preferred.    
  • A minimum of eight (5) years of relevant experience with at least 3 years working with GI products. 
  • Experience in leading projects and setting the priorities to optimize benefits and scope within budget and timeline. 
  • Complete autonomy and accountability.
  • Time management - respect turnaround time.
  • Bilingual, English and French, written and spoken.
