The Consultant, Investment Fund Governance Program provides seasoned professional services related to strategic initiatives that pertain to the monitoring and selection of investment fund managers by actively participating in the analysis of investment fund results and face to face meetings with portfolio managers in order to ensure that the Quality and Choice Program continues to provide a best in class institutional and retail investment platform to all Standard Life clients. Accountable for providing sales and client servicing support as well as participating in the development of new investment products and asset allocation models.

  • Actively participates in the Quality and Choice investment governance process through the monitoring and selection of the fund managers that are currently on the investment platform as well as fund managers that will be added to or deleted from the Quality and Choice Program. 
  • Responsible for evaluating investment fund portfolios and investment fund managers using qualitative and quantitative screens, research and attribution analysis as well as through fund manager meetings in order to recommend which funds and investment managers are to be added and/or removed from the Quality and Choice investment platform. 
  • Contributes to the research and development of new and innovative investment products and solutions as well as the formal review and evolution of the Quality and Choice strategic and tactical asset allocation models. 
  • Provides support to sales and client servicing account managers by efficiently and effectively monitoring and responding to requests and inquiries that originate from the investment program team shared mailbox as well as participating in client meetings and finalist presentations.
  • Organizes the timely and accurate production of qualitative and quantitative reports containing investment information related to investment fund managers that are in the Quality and Choice program.
  • Directs, monitors and shares information related to investment market research and investment competitive intelligence with the members of the investment program team.  
  • Coordinates the logistics of investment program meetings including fund manager reviews, investment presentations, internal committees, video conferencing, webcasting and supports investment program meetings by preparing documents and presentations.
  • Develops and nurtures strong relationships with other internal service providers such as marketing, legal and sales in order to support the overall development of new products and services as well as the continued successful evolution of the Quality and Choice Program.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and provides administrative support for cash flow monitoring when required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • University education in Finance or Economics
  • Canadian Securities Course
  • Ongoing CFA education with Level 1 completed
  • A minimum of five (5) years investment industry experience with at least three (3) years of experience related to investment analysis and/or portfolio management
  • Very good writing and communication skills
  • Very good computer skills (Power Point, Excel, Word etc.)
  • Bilingual, English and French, written and spoken
