Inside Sales Consultant

The Inside Sales Consultant will support regional and national objectives by developing sales and assets under management for Standard Life in accordance with the retail strategy and business plan. This position is specifically responsible for the sales of Standard Life Money and Investment products to targeted clients. The primary focus of this role is to provide both product and value added program support to planner/broker/GA clients in an assigned territory working with a Senior Consultant. For clients, this support will primarily be delivered over the telephone or via the Internet from an office location or in the field by one on one or branch presentations. This may involve assisting in the delivery of value added programs offered by Retail Sales, product sessions and in general providing support where the Inside Consultant will provide the most value. Also, the Inside Sales Consultant will be expected from time to time to travel to deliver Retail services to clients. This may be in either a supporting or leading capacity depending on the needs of the clients and regional office. The balance and nature of consultant work will be determined and planned by the Regional Sales Manager.

  • Provide high quality and knowledgeable first line product and value added program support via telephone or Internet to all clients.
  • Achieve sales, asset growth, activity and prospect targets assigned.
  • Work with the Senior Consultant in the assigned territory to identify and develop potential clients for the Senior Consultant
  • Administer and support the level 2 (Internet) Business Consultancy Service and participate and/or deliver level 3 (workshop) services to the appropriate clients.
  • Create and deliver presentations to targeted clients in the areas of product and value added programs.
  • Identify, implement and maintain controls to mitigate financial and operational risks. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.


  • University degree and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Mutual Fund or CSC course.
