Graphic Designer

To be successful in this role, the Graphic Designer must take responsibility for creating designs, concepts and layouts that communicate product information and brand awareness to customers, partners and the internal organization in a manner consistent with and that supports the Company's vision for future success.

  • Develops creative ideas and concepts and chooses the appropriate print and digital media and/or styles to meet the needs of our partners internationally (Canada, UK, Ireland).
  • Executes layout and content changes in a timely manner.
  • Prepares final output for the relevant delivery formats.
  • Creates design prototypes, including graphic design, digital-based design and layout of content for Standard Life print and/or digital collateral.
  • Executes and maintains brand standards in order to deliver a consistent message and look.
  • Is able to close crop and make color corrections to images. Is able to image source.
  • Monitors trends and best practices and provides the Team Leader and Manager with input.
  • Builds relationship with select internal and external stakeholders.
  • Acquires knowledge and understanding of production processes and industry.
  • Proactively acquires knowledge of International market designs and trends.
  • Demonstrates creative flair, good communication skills, up-to-date knowledge of industry software and a professional approach to time and cost management.
  • May be called upon to support/collaborate on special projects, as directed.
  • Identifies and reports weaknesses and applies controls to mitigate  financial and operational risks. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Uses technologies that are appropriate and conform to international standards and ensures that all mediums used are universally accessible.


  • Technical (college) degree, with a minimum of three (3) years of experience.
  • Relevant working knowledge of design and technical software.
