Managing contracts and sourcing practices for business profitability


Meeting current and futureprocurement needs of over 40 departments from our Canadian headquarter in Montreal is a challenging task that guarantees plenty of projects, interactions and learning opportunities. Our procurement team of about 15 empowered people is continually ensuring that best sourcing and contract management practices are used. They are looking for ways to optimize costs, report savings and deliver benefits to our business with the collaboration of all our stakeholders. This translates into a range of activities from benchmarking recruiting agencies to banking services.

You will benefit from the in-depth business and contractual knowledge of our supportive team to play a strategic role in the profitability of our business. 

Your contribution:

  • Develop and execute category and commodity sourcing strategies to maximise the commercial benefit of the supply chain                                                                     
  • Deliver team and individual savings targets on time with minimal risk to the business                 
  • Manage and deliver high value and key business critical projects to ensure cost and risk mitigation and value add for Standard Life                                                                             
  • Develop and maintain a broad knowledge of relevant supplier markets to identify and evaluate commercial risks and opportunities in line with Standard Life strategic direction                                                                                                                                           

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, with five (5) years of related experience
  • Must have commercial and legal knowledge. Experience with change and project management
  • Significant track record of implementing and delivering procurement strategies to deliver commercial benefit
  • SCMP designation (an asset)
  • Bilingual, French and English, written and spoken
